On Tuesday, November 19, we will discuss "The House of Blue Leaves," by American playwright John Guare. The play won the New York Drama Critics Circle award & the Obie award for Best American Play of 1971; a 1986 revival won 4 Tony awards. Guare also wrote "Six Degrees of Separation."
Our November meeting will take place @ a new location: **CHAPTERS LITERARY BOOKSTORE,** 1512 K St., NW, in Washington, DC (202-347-5495). Chapters is less than 3 blocks from the Farragut North (red line) metro station & even closer to the McPherson Square (orange & blue lines) metro station. Our meeting will start *promptly* @ 7 p.m. & end by 9. Tea will be provided, but CHAPTERS DOES NOT SERVE FOOD. Several nearby restaurants provide take-out; if you want to bring dinner & eat @ Chapters please arrive @ 6:30.

Footlights will attend a taping for radio of "The House of Blue Leaves" Thursday, November 21, 1996, @ 7:30 p.m. @ the Voice of America, 330 Independence Ave., SW (enter on C St.), 1 block north of the Federal Center Southwest metro station (orange & blue lines). On Wednesday, December 18 Footlights will meet in Bethesda to discuss "Arcadia," a brainy, comic mystery by English playwright Tom Stoppard. On Tuesday night, January 7, we'll attend "Arcadia" @ the Arena Stage, Maine Ave. & Sixth St. in southwest DC.

Footlights has set its schedule for the first 3 months of 1997! Thursday, January 16: David Mamet's "American Buffalo" (just out as a movie); Monday, February 24: John Osborne's "Look Back in Anger" (& we'll attend the Studio Theatre's production Saturday March 8); & Tuesday, March 18: Archibald McLeish's "J.B."
